New construction of two (2) structures outside the Memorial Union on ASU's Main campus. All of the structural steel was prepped to an SP6 finish, primed and painted. There are multiple architectural concrete piers comprised of ground, polished and sealed concrete. The columns on top of the piers feature 20-foot tall channel glass panels. At the top of each column sits an eight-foot LED fixture, which washes the entire length of the columns in any color of the spectrum. The existing architectural "pringles" were kept in tact, with the structure being built around them and the existing fountain outside the Union. These new structures create a shady setting along the mall for students to eat, study and gather. A key architectural element of these structures features random panel removal to create a dappled light effect, opening up the space underneath.
