Adaptive reuse construction of an existing one-story office / medical building formerly occupied by the VA into school space for middle school kids at ASU Poly Prep, a free innovative public charter school serving students in grades PreK-12. This project included the Phase 2 and Phase 3 renovations of the building. Phase 2 featured a 20,333 SF complete demolition of existing space and addition of seven (7) classrooms, a multi-purpose room and office / lobby area. Also included in the project was the renovation of an exterior courtyard with all new landscaping and central plant upgrades, including a new cooling tower and two condenser pumps. The Phase 3 Creativity Hall, occupied by 7th and 8th graders, features 16,202 SF of demolition and addition of eight (8) classrooms, a multi-purpose room, conference room and lobby area. Both phases feature exposed ceilings and tectum, with light monitors in the ceiling and skylights in the hallway and classrooms. Also included was a 25,000 SF playground area with sport court for the kids, relocation of a shade structure, entry sidewalk with decorative concrete and the addition of grass and trees.
